BTS6143D Infineon Power Distribution Switches, Load Drivers

The BTS6143D from Infineon is a smart single-channel PROFET high-side power switch with a typical 8mΩ N-channel vertical power FET, charge pump, and load-current-sense diagnostic feedback integrated in a compact PG-TO252-5 package. For selection, it operates from 5.5V to 38V (45V transient) with 8A nominal output and 70A short-circuit current rating, and features short-circuit latch, current limit, overload protection, thermal restart, overvoltage/load-dump protection, loss-of-GND and loss-of-Vbb protection, plus ESD protection and optimized EMC. The proportional current-sense pin (typical kILIS ≈ 1:10000) enables real-time load monitoring and fault feedback. In application, it drives 12V and 24V grounded resistive, inductive, and capacitive loads—ideal for automotive lighting, HVAC blowers, window-lift and seat motors, mirror-fold actuators, and industrial PLCs, replacing relays, fuses, and discrete circuits while saving board space and improving system reliability.
