The BULD742CT4 from STMicroelectronics is a high-voltage fast-switching NPN power transistor housed in a surface-mount DPAK (TO-252) package, rated for 400V collector-emitter voltage and 4A collector current. Manufactured using high-voltage Multi-Epitaxial Planar technology, it delivers very high switching speeds with low spread of dynamic parameters for reliable operation. The device features a 45W maximum power dissipation, 250µA collector cut-off current, and DC current gain (hFE) of 25 at 800mA/3V. Its intrinsic ruggedness enables it to withstand high collector current levels during breakdown, making it ideal for industrial power supplies, lighting ballasts, motor control, and switching regulators.
